JULY - 2006

The ocean program in the Long Beach area just expanded with the addition of a Cape Dory 36. With some minor repairs and upgrades she will expand the number of kids that we can take sailing in the Los Angeles and Southern California areas. We are already planning our first Catalina Island trips with the boat. All sailing program members are welcome to come and sail her with us. Sailors that would like to join the sailing program or volunteer teaching kids to sail on our new Cape Dory or other boats should contact Capt. Scott

All charitable programs, schools and sailors are welcome to participate in our activities. If you have any questions or want to schedule an activity - please contact Capt. Scott via email or call toll free 1-(800) 815-0242.

MAY - 2006

Thursday's Child was one of the boats at The Sail America boat show for 2006. Over 600 people visited the boat and heard about her two world records, three trips around the world single handed and The Way to Happiness Foundation's Sailing Program. Many of these sailors made arrangements to sail on the boat or to send thier kids to sail on the boat. We look forward to seeing these sailors on Thursdays Child along with the rest the 600 visitors again out on the water. To sail on Thursday's Child contact Capt. Scott at (800) 815-0242

DECEMBER - 2005

We just recieved the letter of donation for the world famous Thursday's Child. Thursday's Child is an Open 60 single handed race boat that broke the trans-atlantic record and then was the first boat to break Flying Clouds record around Cape Horn that had been unbroken for over 100 years!
We are now surveying the boat and preparing her for service as our boat for the advanced kids and program members.

To volunteer on the upgrade projects and to to find out more about sailing on Thursday's Child, contact Capt. Scott via email or call toll free 1-(800) 815-0242.

DECEMBER - 2005

The Way to Happiness Foundation Sailing Program has just aquired a 43' Charter fishing boat. This boat was donated to the program so that we can increase the number of kids that go out on fishing trips each year. In the last several years the foundation has introduced hundreds of inner city kids that had never been outside of thier neighborhood, to the ocean, fishing and non-religous common sence values that are helping them to live happier lives. To join one of our fishing trips or to create a new fishing trip for your group contact Capt. Scott.

A beautiful 55' Abeking & Rassmussen ketch has been made available to our Tampa Program for sailing adventures and classes. We will be sailing her in the Gulf of Mexico and into the Virgin Islands. School groups along with other charitable activities are welcome to join us for day sails or extended trips. Contact Capt. Scott for more information.

The boat was owned by Henry Rasmussen for some time and then had a storied history. The boat is now fully restored and ready for new adventures.

AUGUST - 2005

We had two more sailboats donated to The Way to Happiness Foundation's Sailing Program in the San Francisco area. Both are going to be used by our program as well as two other cooperating schools in the area. One boat is a 35 foot cruiser and the other is a 25 foot day sailor. We look forward to expanding our sailing activities in the bay area over the next months. For more information on these boats or to donate your boat to the Way To Happiness Sailing Program call or email Capt. Scott.

All gifts are important to us - no matter the size - so please help us help as many kids as possible. If you would like to make a contribution online go to https://secure.outflow.net/twth/donations-main.asp
