I participated in the Way To Happiness sailing race two years in a row.
The second year I was a crew captain and that was very exciting.
I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot about sailing. The most exciting thing to me was the start and finish because you not only have to know how to sail but you also have to watch out for the other boats. Plus the crew needs to move quickly to get it all done.

I had sailed with the TWTH Sailing Team in several races when I decided to venture into something new: I entered a 2-man race. I mean, how hard could it be?
Well! I was quite surprised of how much more I had to work than when I was on a bigger boat with more people. We had to complete three different races instead of just one!
My partner was a very good sailor and it helped us a lot in how well we did in final results. There were so many boats and competitors, you got to see them a lot during the race. They came by so closely sometimes that you could even hear them talk to each other!
I had to step up my sailing knowledge by a notch in that race and move fast.
Thanks, Captain Scott, I had a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed participating in the Way To Happiness Sailing Team races.
When I was asked the first year if I wanted to sail, it sounded like a lot of fun. I had never sailed before but had always been interested in trying it once and here was my chance.
Race day was so much fun that I asked 30 of my lady friends to participate the following year! We all had so much fun, learned a lot of basics of sailing and met new people.
I guess the most exciting part of the races is when you are close by other sail boats and sailors. You find this mostly at start time, finish time and when you overtake someone! :-)
Thanks to TWTH Sailing for getting us out there experiencing new things.
